Water Conservation Devices & City Programs Still Avaliable during COVID-19

The City of Watsonville Water Resources Center still offers water conservation devices for your business or home. 
They include: * Hose nozzles, * Sink aerators, * Showerheads, * Industrial water sprayers kits

The City of Watsonville offers a few more awesome programs that businesses will be interested in:
These resources include:

  • Free Water Consultation (PDF): trained staff will visit your home or business to evaluate your landscape and indoor water use. They will make specific recommendations tailored to your needs while providing incentives and rebates for modifications.
  • Landscape Water Conservation Rebate: The City of Watsonville offers a $1.00 per square foot rebate for customers to replace high-water-use lawns and areas irrigated by sprinklers with drought-tolerant, permeable landscaping and efficient irrigation equipment. Interested customers are eligible for a replacement rebate of up to $1000 for residents and $2,000 for multi-family, commercial, or institutional customers. Edible perennials and fruit trees may be included in landscape conversion projects.
  • The Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency Offers rebates of $30 per rain barrel, $0.30 per gallon for rainwater harvesting, and $400 for laundry-to-landscape greywater irrigation. Complete this rebate form or call (831) 722-9292.
  • Free Toilet Replacement: for most toilets installed prior to 1992 or marked greater than 1.6 gallons per flush, the City of Watsonville will replace your old model free of charge.
  • Washing Machine Replacement Rebate (PDF): $100 rebate should you purchase a new Energy Star Certified Washing Machine to replace less efficient washing machine models.  Complete this form.

Emergency Assistance Program Guidelines for Small Businesses

This program is designed to assist Watsonville small businesses affected by the COVID-19 economic crisis with a grant up to $2000.

This program is a partnership between the City of Watsonville and El Pajaro CDC. For more information please visit www.elpajarocdc.org

The City of Watsonville is partnering with El Pajaro Community Development Corporation to market and administer the program. 

On March 27th, 2020, Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) to support preparation for and response to the community impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and identified additional funding for the City of Watsonville through is Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

Applications will be accepted via email starting Tuesday May 5, 2020 until Friday May 8, 2020 at 3:00 pm

Asistencia para negociantes en el costa central

"Los supervisores del condado de Monterey aprobaron un fondo de 1 millón de dólares para negociantes inmigrantes que se han visto afectados durante la pandemia. Según supervisores del condado de Monterey los fondos federales y estatales no envian ayudas para negociante sin documentos. Por eso el fondo de 1 millón de dólares será para los pequeños negocios quienes tengan menos de 10 trabajadores y tengan un número Itin para el pago de sus impuestos .

Este programa es una alianza de los supervisores del condado de Monterey, la ciudad de Salinas, la fundación comunitaria del condado de Monterey, el fondo Adelante y el pájaro CDC. El mínimo de préstamos será de $15K y el máximo de $50K. Aunque aún falta que la ciudad de Salinas le dé luz verde, la organización Pajaro Cdc ya está lista. Esta agencia se encargará de recibir las solicitudes y ayudar a las personas a tramitar la solicitud de préstamo.

La misma manera la organización Digital Nest [un Green Business certificado] ha creado un directorio de negocios digital denominado at831.org para que los pequeños negociantes tengan presencia en la redes sociales...

Según Digital Nest la idea es ayudar a los negocios que son pequeños que no tienen presencia con el contenido, quienes no tienen correo electrónico para que tengan una plataforma digital donde puedan exponer sus productos y que sea fácil de llamar.
