The Monterey Green Business Program is a successful partnership of the City and County of Monterey together with environmental agencies, utilities and nonprofit organizations. We assist, recognize and promote businesses and government agencies that volunteer to operate in a more environmentally responsible way. To be certified “green,” participants must be in compliance with all regulations and meet program standards for conserving resources, preventing pollution and minimizing waste. We offer motivated businesses and agencies an easy-to-use framework for improving environmental performance.

Unfortunately, we don't currently have a local program up and running in your area.
Green Business Programs typically provide free local resources to interested businesses to help them accomplish their certification. If you would still like to move forward with getting your business or organization Green Business certified, the California Green Business Network team can support you for a fee. To get started, email us at info@greenbusinessca.org, and we will provide you with additional details.
Help Start a Program
We have funding and resources for government agencies that wish to start a Green Business Program. I encourage you to reach out to your local environmental, sustainability, and/or elected officials. Let them know that you want a Green Business Program in your area. Details on how to start a program are found here.
