Completed the checklist to the best of your ability? Use the scheduling link below to schedule a virtual site visit. If you still have questions or are not sure about some of the measures, don't worry! You will have the opportunity to go over the online checklist with your Green Business Coordinator during the site visit. If you need any assistance scheduling the site visit or have additional questions, please contact ContraCostaGreenBusiness@cchealth.org or call 925-655-3200.
4. What to expect during the site visit.
During a site visit, Green Business Staff will review your checklist with you to verify completion of checklist measures. Green Business Staff will also identify any action items, audits and/or inspections needed to complete your green business certification. Site visits are currently being done virtually and will take 1-1.5 hrs (same as an in-person visit). You will need to be on-site and will need video capabilities on your smartphone or laptop to walk around the facility. You will have the option to select the platform (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Facetime) when you sign up. Since it will involve using a phone/computer/tablet, businesses are reminded to fully charge the phone/computer/tablet before the site visit. After the site visit you will be provided a write-up of action items, if any and we will also initiate any required audits from our program partners (typical audits include recycling and/or water conservation). If any measures are not able to be verified during the site visit, the Green Business Coordinator will request pictures or other documentation.
5. Complete action items and/or audits
After the site visit you will be provided a write-up of action items and you will need to complete any audits and/or inspections required for certification. If you have to make any purchases, you may be eligible for a $500 rebate.
6. Once action items and audits are complete, your recertification will be complete!
Businesses are recertified every 4 years. As long as your certification remains in good standing, you can continue to use the green business logo and indicate that you are a certified green business.
Keep in touch!
Please reach out to the Green Business Program for any changes in contact information and/or if you move locations. Since the green business certification is location-based if you move locations, let us know as soon as possible so that we can update our database and certify your business in the new location.
