Location:Virtually
Contact Name:Rori Kirkpatric
Date: July 18, 2025
Time: 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM
Are you a small or diverse business in California? If so, Bay Area electricity providers – MCE and Silicon Valley Clean Energy – are excited to invite you to this year’s Certify & Amplify webinar.
This event will help you certify in California’s Supplier Diversity or Small Business programs and amplify your business opportunities throughout the state.
Who is this event for?
This event is for California businesses that meet the state’s small or diverse business qualifications:
- Small businesses must have 100 employees or less and must have an average annual revenue of no more than $18 million over the past three years.
- Diverse businesses must have a majority ownership (51%) of people who identify as women, minority, LGBTQ or have a disability.
You do not need to be an MCE or SVCE customer to attend.
Why should I certify my business?
General Order (GO) 156, commonly referred to as “Supplier Diversity”, is a statewide program that encourages utilities to prioritize contracts and subcontracts from businesses that meet diversity qualifications.
After being certified as a small or diverse supplier, businesses are listed in the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) or California Department of General Services (DGS) multimillion dollar clearinghouses, which utilities and state agencies can access for their contracting needs. In turn, this will increase your visibility and credibility across the industry.

Pledge to be Idle Free!
Looking for an easy way to save money? Be “idle free!” Using your auto stop-start feature can reduce fuel consumption by as much as 8%. With gas prices hovering around $5 per gallon, that adds up fast! For more on this, check out this article by Road and Track.
If your car does not have the auto stop-start feature, simply turn off your car’s engine whenever you’ll be waiting more than 30 seconds, other than while in traffic. Idling happens while waiting for curbside pickup, picking up kids from school or activities, going through a car wash, or meeting someone at the BART station. Reducing your idle time will save you money, save gas, and help Spare the Air!
